What we fund
The Broadley Trust currently supports organisations and projects that work on issues of justice related to (1) refugees and asylum seekers’ (2) Palestinian self-determination, (3) reconciliation between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Australians, and (4) stronger democracy, with a view to establishing a limited number of long-term relationships.
The Broadley Trust favours specific and innovative projects which have identifiable outcomes and success indicators, but will consider institutional support when tangible benefits can be demonstrated. The Trust does not accept unsolicited applications. Instead the Trust proactively identifies prospective partners.
In general, the Trust will not donate to general fundraising campaigns.
The Trust distributes approximately AUD$250,000 each year. The Trust may make multi-year commitments or decide to distribute no funds in any year.
The Trust will require a proposal of how the funds would be spent, a six-monthly progress report and a final report from recipients. This will not be an arduous requirement and the detail will be negotiated with each grantee.
