December 2017 – June 2018
St John’s Youth Services (SJYS) works with young people in the Adelaide metropolitan area who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Young people are supported to move into independence by ensuring access to the private rental market, engagement with work or education and connection to their local communities. SJYS set up a Youth Hub Arts Café, Adelaide’s first indigenous food café, comprised of a café which provides training and work experience, a service hub providing personal support and access to housing, and an arts centre and gallery to provide exposure for young Aboriginal artists. The Broadley Trust contributed to the cost of IT equipment needed to support the café’s operations. Visit the SAY.kitchen cafe at 78 Currie St, Adelaide.
